Extremely “interesting” weather on the horizon – bucketloads of snow on the mountain, and depending where the freezing level ends up, and how long it goes on for, perhaps a fair bit on the village as well!

Great skiing on well prepared pistes under clear blue skies pretty much sums up the conditions over the next few days. Rumour has it that winter may be returning to the alps next week, with 3 or 4 days of snow fall. Watch this space…

Well, I was about to write about how all the pistes were in great conditions, but that we needed a bit more snow to freshen things up, and then the heaven’s opened. We got about 50-70 cms of snow overnight. Some of the higher lifts have been shut due to avalanche danger, but hopefully must areas will re-open tomorrow, in time for the clear blue skies arriving!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our guests – past, present and future!
Hopefully now that we have the crazy New Year week out of the way, we should have time to update out weather/snow reports a little more refularly.
Conditions are superb at the moment, with great coverage and sunny weather.
News and weather – 16.12.05
The holiday is season is almost upon us, there is deep snow on the ground, and the best part of a metre due to fall over the next 24 hours. This will be followed by extreme cold temperatures so wrap up warm if you are out here over Christmas.
Once again, the Portes du Soleil has the best snow in the alps for the start of the season. Read more about this in our mountain weblog.
All lifts should be opening tomorrow and conditions are promising to be fantastic!
The village is looking very Christmassy with all the lights up and snow covering everything.
Other news: The piste between Pre La Joux & Linderets has been widened and improved dramatically making it easier for beginners/early intermediates to get down there.
